EIGHTIES SPECIAL

WEEKEND SPECIAL

PAC MAN CEREAL (FLAVORFUL)

I remember growing up in the eighties and not only playing the game, Pac Man, but I absolutely remember eating this cereal in the mornings.  Besides rainbow sherbert being one of my favorite desserts in this era, this became my favorite cereal for a short period.  Imagining myself as Pac Man eating the marshmallows as Pac Man would eat the ghost once they changed colors.  One of the great moments in my childhood!  Any of you remember this cereal?

FUN DIP CANDY – Well, well, well…I used to eat these every chance I get.  Of course, I can’t tell you how many times I would head home with powder on my clothes, around my mouth and all over my hands.  Eating the stick that you would collect the sugar with wasn’t all that great tasting, but that was part of the package.  I haven’t seen these in years!! Anybody seen these anywhere?

PUSH POPS – How many of you remember these growing up? Of course you do! My favorite was the green apple flavor, but after sucking on these for a while your lips turn the same color and somehow the outer rings of your lips become sticky.  Some of them had clips on them where you could hang it off your belt or hook it to anything to save it for later.  Where did these go? Sometimes, even with the cap on, I would end up dirt and blades of grass stuck to it.  Although I would be outside maybe playing sports or just fooling around, I ended up eating bits and pieces of God’s green earth.  Not very tasty I might add, but didn’t kill me.

CHINESE SAUSAGE?

FLAVORFULORFLAVORFOUL (Day Shift)

ARTIFICIALLY COLORED! So if we artificially color anything, especially food items, red does it automatically make it Chinese flavored or from the Chinese culture? Has anyone seen Chinese sausages?  Do they actually look this dark red and do I really want to eat something like this? Artificially colored!

BREAD SPREAD

FLAVORFULORFLAVORFOUL (Day Shift)

When I was younger I couldn’t appreciate the taste of apple butter, let alone later in life eating almond butter.  Now, in my older years I can appreciate apple butter and almond butter, but vanilla almond butter?  This could go really good together or just be nasty and taste like garbage.  Anyone tried this?

MINT SQUARES

FLAVORFULORFLAVORFOUL (Day Shift)

These were pretty good!! FLAVORFUL indeed! I personally like dark chocolate anyway, but that flavor doesn’t always go with certain other flavors.  I never had a Peppermint Patty with dark chocolate, but I would guess it would taste something like this little treat.  I’m not sure where this was purchased from, but I thank the nice person who gave some of a snack to enjoy during our work day.

YOUR MORNING PROTEIN!

FLAVORFULORFLAVORFOUL (Day Shift)

Before my military career I was never huge on beef jerky.  After I joined the military my diet included a heavy dose of beef jerky, but nowhere close to those who were dedicated to that food source.  However, after my military career I only eat beef jerky when I am in the mood for it.  Now, some eat jerky all day everyday, but now I suppose you can go for your morning protein with this new product.  We came across this a few weeks ago, and I don’t know if my stomach could handle something like this…made with applesauce…dried pork sausages.  I suppose no added MSG is good.  I know my little sister loves jerky so I need to see if she’s had these.  Anyone tried these before?
